Childhood Experiences Continued

Dear Auntie Helga,

Thank you for publishing my story in March's edition. I hope your readers enjoy it as much as I enjoy their stories. I also enclose a further episode from my teens as promised.

I remember once being taken on a walk by my grandmother, we were to walk through some woodland along a riverside trail. As it often was muddy and wet I did not want to get my normal shoes dirty. My grandmother did not have any old wellington boots, but she did have some old shoes of my Aunt's. They were plain cream lace ups made from a canvas type woven material and had a small 1/ inch heel. I wasn't wearing any other female clothing that day but had to go on the walk with these shoes on. They were obviously girls and I do remember feeling very embarrassed and probably got one or two stares, especially as we walked for a good mile along normal streets to the woods. The shoes did get quite muddy and I ended up with wet feet, but that was the least of my worries! I couldn't wait to get back home.

One thing I didn't mention was that My grandmother never ever made me wear a dress or skirt, only underwear or socks and shoes. I suspect that if she had she would not have been able to keep up any pretence of 'convenience' as the reason for me wearing my Aunt's things.

However, as I progressed into late teens I confess to becoming interested in seeing how a dress or skirt may look and feel on me. I remember visiting my Aunt once with my grandmother and surreptitiously trying one of her mini dresses that was in the wash basket in her bathroom. Needless to say I already had on a pair of her old panties. I was about fifteen at the time and the dress fitted me quite well. I do remember getting quite a buzz from it, even though the dress was only on for less than a minute!

This prompted me to try further as I got older and at about 18 I bought a bag of old clothes from a jumble sale. It was full of dresses, blouses and skirts. I had great fun trying them all one afternoon. Sadly I had to part company with them that same day as I did not have anywhere to store them due to still living at my parents.

I do hope these further memories are of interest.

Yours
D.
